Employees can start returning to work on a part time basis. HMRC will pay Employers 80% of the wage to allow Employees still to make up the full-time wage. This is only an option and full-time furlough is still an option for those that have been furloughed on or before 10th June 2020.

The tapering for furlough starts in August, this is when the Employer contribution will increase in terms of National Insurance and Pension Contributions – this will be paid in full by the Employer – no grant received for this.

In September, the gross contribution will come down from 80% to 70% and exclude Pension and National Insurance contributions.

In October, the gross contribution will come down from 70% to 60%.

The cap for the maximum amount claimed per person will drop from £2,500 to £2187.50, in October this will drop to £1875.

SEISS will happen again – if your business has been adversely affected by Covid-19 on 14th July 2020 and you are eligible you will be able to make a claim in August 2020. You can claim for this even if you were eligible for the first payment in June but did not apply.

Deadline for the first grant is 13th July 2020.

The cap for the second grant is lower than the first.
